Here’s a scenario …
We have waited for the perfect time to start our new healthy lifestyle ..
There are no bdays , holidays , everybody is well and life’s good .. so now seems to be the right time ..
we plan our exercise our food everything looks good… then
Something happens … now our perfect plan is being challenged ..
initially because we are still pretty motivated and energised we keep holding on tight to that perfect plan … eventually it gets harder and harder ..
subconscious kicks in because that’s our self preservation .. we start slipping back into those old habits .. then frustration w then the feeling of failure ..
Once that kicks in we have a very narrow view of the possible ..
we lose sight … it’s now no longer the perfect time ..
It’s now too hard and we tend to quit our new lifestyle and wait again for the perfect time to restart
The cycle continues …
what do you do ?
forget the all or nothing and do what you can do to achieve a smaller degree of success ..
Make different plans
We need a plan A .plan B plan C etc as many as it takes according to your lifestyle .
Sometimes we don’t have the opportunity to eat chicken and broccoli
So to know what you can eat when you are hit with a challenge is
Valuable .. and empowering ..
I call them “ the emergency escape hatch”…
If you can’t be perfect that’s ok just make the best choice you can at the time and adjust accordingly ..
